Harvest Moon

The September Full Moon falls in the sign of Pisces and brings transformative and illuminating energy. This Full Moon is referred to as the Harvest Moon, as this was a time for the Indigenous Tribes to harvest all that they could before entering into a new, colder, season. This month's moon is also the last Full Moon before the Autumn Equinox, which will take place on September 23rd.

The Full Harvest Moon may have your emotions at an all time high, and Virgo season might be the reason why. The sun is currently in analytical, grounded Virgo, so many of us may be feeling driven to clean up any messes, get down to business, and reorganize various areas of our lives. Although Virgo's can be sharp, focused, powerful, and specific - they can also be very critical, insanely emotional, and sometimes cold. Virgos are the most perceptive, visually sensitive, but resourceful signs in the zodiac. We're all feeling pretty fuzzy at this point, as we're coming straight out of a summer in which multiple planets were in retrograde. However, when focused, Virgo's can burn away any unnecessary energy.

Falling in the watery sign of Pisces, this Full Moon will also bring a calming water affect which will absorb the emotions of the world around us. Be gentle with yourself, as this level of sensitivity can be difficult at times. If we allow these feelings to come and go as visitors, rather than trying to control them, we may discover that our emotions have a message or a lesson for us to appreciate and learn from. As long as we remain connected to our inner self, we will be reconditioned and recharged by this healing energy of Pisces.

If you have felt sluggish or unmotivated, September may bring the push you have been looking for. If there is something you’ve been meaning to do, take action this Full Moon, as you may just find things get done much quicker than expected! Earth energy likes to keep things practical and simple, so be realistic when it comes to your goals and what it is that you want to get done. Remember, this is not a time for dreaming it is a time for doing and taking action!

The symbol for Pisces is two fish swimming in opposite directions. Although they swim their own separate ways, they work as a team and are connected through a spiritual cord. Using their intuitive senses, they can see through each other’s eyes and know what the other is thinking, feeling, and experiencing. These two fish symbolize the yin and yang of life but also the pursuit of higher levels of consciousness.

It is time for us to spiritually shed the dead parts from our souls, just like the trees are letting go of the leaves, and make way for the new growth that is being released at this sacred time. This is your opportunity to advance your soul growth. Do not let this moment pass you by. The best way to navigate through this Full Moon is to be open to new information and to remember that life is a constant journey of learning.
